Science Complex Renovation – Phase III
Construction for the enabling work for Phase 3 of the Science Complex Renovation Project was completed on time to allow classes and labs to take place for the beginning of the Fall semester. The enabling work that was conducted during the summer of 2021 included the relocation and installation of all utility support for phase 3 of the project. Since the new “utility hub” for the science complex is located in the far east portion of the new science connector, all mechanical, electrical and plumbing needed to be installed east to west (across the length of Albertus Magnus Hall) to the location of phase 3, which is on the far west side of the building. This work also included the installation of new ductwork that will feed new construction in both phases 3 and 4, as well as, a new acid neutralization tank for the new laboratories.
Construction of phase 3 has been completed. This included the renovation of the interior of the west wing of Albertus Magnus Hall along with the replacement of the brick parapet, window lintels, roof and windows and exterior masonry work.
